Hello Ota 1周年｜英語を通じて広がる“たのしい和と話と輪”

Last night Masami and I had our anniversary with Vijay and Mayuko at Yellomoong in Ota. !!?

🎉It has been one year since our very first "Hello Ota" 🎉

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "HELLO OTA!"

 

I must admit it had slipped my mind with getting the few preparations done and then getting into the flow of chatting with people.

 

Even though I had forgotten our anniversary it was like a party anyway! I had conversations with people of different ages, genders and nationalities. It was great to hear all the chatting around me, too.

 

Although "Hello Ota" is an English meet-up, people were communicating in different languages. Not only English and Japanese were being used but Portuguese and Spanish too. For a little while it was, "Olá Ota" & "Hola Ota". I even learnt the words for peacock and peahen in Hindi. 🇬🇧🇯🇵🇵🇹🇪🇸🇮🇳🇺🇸

 

Thank you to Vijay and Mayuko at Yellomoong for helping make "Hello Ota" happen, for the great food and drink and English conversation too. Masami and I are grateful for being introduced to you by a mutual friend.

 

Another big thank you to everyone who has attended, past and present, for your enthusiasm, effort and joy of chatting in English. I am very grateful for meeting you (even though I'm terrible with names!) and hope to see you next time.

+ a purchase of at least one drink from the venue.

An additional ￥500 will be charged if you attend without booking.

Non-Japanese - No fee to participate but a purchase of at least one drink from the venue is required to join.

 

 

昨日開催したHello Ota - Let's chat in English。

 

 

おかげさまで、１年続けることができ、１３回目を迎えました。

１年続けられたのも、ご参加いただいた皆様のおかげです。

ありがとうございます。

 

思えば1年前、ある方がYellomoongさんとのご縁を紡いでくださいました。

そのおかげで、第一回目が開催されました。

それから１年。開催場所とおいしい料理と飲み物を提供してくださる

Yelllomoongさん、いつもありがとうございます。

 

 

年代も性別も英語歴も違う方々が、

英語・英会話という共通項を通して集う、

Hello Otaという英会話イベント。

 

英語と日本語交じりで、

英語の話をしたり、

音楽の話をしたり、

旅行の話をしたり、

年金の話をしたり！！

たのしかったです！

 

Hello Otaが、

これからも英語・英会話を通して

”たのしい和と話と輪”が拡がる機会になっていったらいいなと
